This page will detail how to FTP using Windows Vista and Windows 7
Step 1: open "Computer" by going to the "Start" or "Windows" Button on the bottom left. Then left click "Computer"

Now left click on "Computer" as shown above.

Now you will enter in the FTP address given to you. In this example we are going to use The I.T. Connection, Inc. FTP server as an example. So i will enter
ftp://the-it-connection.com

Once you type in the FTP address as seen above, hit the "Enter" key on the keyboard.
If you are prompted for a Username and Password you can skip this next step. Otherwise continue.
If you do not get a prompt for a Username and Password you are logged in Annonymously. In which case you need to log in using your Username and Password so you can get to the area you need to get to.
Go to "File" then left click "Login As..."

Select "Login As..." and you will get the following login screen:

Here is where you will put your Username and Password that should have been provided to you.

Once you enter you username and password hit "Log On"

Now that we are logged in we can start to copy files in here. You can copy one file at a time, or multiple files at once by selecting a folder, or a large group of files and copying and pasting like you normally would in explorer.

After you copy a file, you can paste it by right clicking on the FTP folder, then left clicking to select "Paste"

After you hit paste it will send the copied files to the FTP server.
