Now that you have "My Computer" selected you can delete "My Computer" and enter in the FTP address provided to you. In this example we will use our server:

ftp://the-it-connection.com

Yours could like like this: ftp://4.2.2.2 it doens't need to be a domain.

FTP Address

After you type in the address as seen above, hit "Enter" on your keyboard, or hit the "Go" button in "My Computer".

You will either get a screen similar to the one below, or you will get a login screen. If you get a login screen ignore the next few steps.

FTP Annonymous login

Now you are logged in annonymously. We need to log in with the credentials that you were provided so you can preform the task that you need to. In order to do this we will go to "File"-->"Login As..."

With the window above you will enter your Username, usually example@domain.com, and your password. See below for example.

FTP Example Credentials

After you enter the provided credentials left click "Log On". See below for example of logged in screen.

FTP Logged In

Once you log in you will be in your home folder that is assigned by the server administrator. In this example it is an empty folder.

If you want to put files into the FTP server you simply copy and paste them as you normally would.

Right click a file, for example in "My Documents". Then left click "Copy". Now go to the FTP folder that you just logged into, right click inside it, then left click "Paste".

Paste

After you paste the items that you copied, you will see the files copying.
